Learn knitting techniques to create crisp, polished edges and beautifully finished garments.
The smallest details often make the biggest difference for your knitting projects. In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, you'll master picking up stitches neatly along a variety of edges, creating smooth transitions, and choosing the right border for your project.
We'll explore decorative and functional finishing techniques, including applied I-cords, other applied borders, picot edges and more, while discussing how stitch patterns, gauge, and garment construction influence your finishing choices.
Whether you're finishing a cardigan, sweater, shawl, or accessory, you'll leave with practical techniques and the confidence to add professional-quality borders that enhance both the appearance and durability of your knits.
Basic knitting experience is required for this workshop. Participants should know how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off. A small amount of "homework" is required to prepare for this class: you will need to knit 3 swatches at home and bring them with you to the workshop. More details will be provided by email after registration, as well as an option to purchase yarn and needles in advance if needed.

- Materials: Participants must create their own swatches and bring appropriate yarn and needles to practice their borders and edgings (see above)
- Language: This is a bilingual workshop (English & French)
- This workshop is open to adults and teens 14+
- Workshop will run with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 students.
Cancellation policy: We require payment in full in order to reserve a space. We have a 5-day cancellation policy. Your payment will not be refunded unless you cancel at least 5 days before the workshop start time. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Should this occur, all class fees will be refunded.
